We got the message loud and clear that tagging imported bookmarks is a daunting task, so we now have two tools to make tagging easier.
The first tool gives new users the ability to tag bookmarks as they are imported. You can see this on the import bookmarks page.
The second tool is one I named the Tagging Buddy. What do you think of the name? The Tagging Buddy is a special search page that allows you to tag groups of bookmarks all at once:
http://www.sharinglinks.com/taggingbuddy/
For example, you might search for the word “fractions” and then add the tags “math, fractions, grades 3-5″ to each of the search results with a single click.
Later this week I will add a video demonstration of the new Tagging Buddy feature. Meanwhile, give it a try and let me know what you think.

Just tried to use the Tagging Buddy, it did a pretty good job of searching for digital storytelling and then let me select all of those, and make them public. What I WANTED it to do was automatically add my search term as a tag tyhat would then show up in my list of tags. I can’t figure out how to add tags to my list…
Thanks for any help you can give.
Regards, Fred
The group tag functions are BELOW your search results. I just updated the Tagging Buddy with 1,2,3 instructions as follows:
1. Use the search function (or simply scroll) to find similar bookmarks to group tag.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the bookmark list, and enter your new tags in the field titled “Tags to add to selected bookmarks.” If you enter multiple tags, be sure to put a comma between them.
3. Click the “Update Selected Bookmarks” button.
I really liked the ease of using the Tagging Buddy to tag more than one bookmark at a time. It is nice to be able to add to tags later as other search parameters come to mind.
